The 80-unit project will integrate green energy technologies and has been designed with an autonomous vehicle future in mind, stated a Jan. 16 release. The community will develop an electric vehicle car-share program, and removes car garages from homes to allow for more pedestrian-friendly walkways and more outdoor space for uses such as open parks, gardens, small playgrounds and walking trails. The developer is S2E Technologies and Dror Benshetrit and Gensler are the designers. EllisDon is the contractor. Derek Satnik, vice-president of technology, smart communities for S2e, commented in the release, “We are really pleased that the zoning change had unanimous support from council.
